100% natural reusable Beeswax Wraps, handmade in the UK.
Beeswax Wraps help reduce the amount of single use clingfilm needed to keep your food fresh without having the devastating impact on the planet. They are handmade from locally sourced British Beeswax, organic Jojoba Oil and Pine Resin, with GOTs certified organic Cotton and organic Dyes.
The Seaside Print Beeswax Wraps are inspired by the beautiful British coastline and are available in a variety of different pack sizes.
Handmade in Nailsworth using locally sourced Beeswax, these Beeswax Wraps provide the perfect plastic free solution to keeping your food fresh for longer. They are 100% natural, so you can be certain that there are no nasty chemicals leaching into your food. Pine Resin gives the wraps a natural adhesive, making them clingy and helping them create a tight seal around your food. If reducing plastic waste isn’t enough of a bonus, unlike clingfilm the wraps are breathable, ensuring you never have soggy sandwiches or sweaty cheese again!
The Seaside Print Beeswax Wraps are available in a variety of different pack sizes:
Two Combo Pack – One Small Wrap 20 x 20cm and One Medium Wrap 30 x 30cm.
Three Combo Pack – One Small Wrap 20 x 20cm, One Medium Wrap 30 x 30cm and One Large Wrap 40 x 40cm.
Five Combo Pack – Two Small Wraps 20 x 20cm, Two Medium Wraps 30 x 30cm and One Large Wrap 40 x 40cm.
One Extra Large Wrap – One Extra Large Wrap 50 x 50cm.
The Small Beeswax Wraps are ideal to preserve unused vegetable and fruit halves and seal jars, whilst the Medium Beeswax Wraps are perfect for wrapping sandwiches, cheese and covering leftovers. The Large Beeswax Wraps are great to cover large casserole dishes, wrap a small loaf of bread or keep your leafy greens fresh for longer, and the Extra Large Beeswax Wraps are ideal for keeping a whole loaf of bread fresh for over a week or even rolling pastry on!
Each wrap is individually made, with the intention to make them as long lasting as possible. The fabric is cut prior to the wax being applied, sealing the edges in wax and preventing the fabric from fraying after a few washes. The wraps will last approximately a year, or even longer if you use a Beeswax Rewax Bar. Once your wraps have eventually come to the end of their life, they’re 100% compostable, or even make great natural firelighters.
It’s recommended that you refresh your wraps regularly. There are two separate refresh methods which help extend the life and quality of the wraps. The first method is recommended to be undertaken every two to three months and requires you have either an electric oven or an electric iron and the second method is recommended to be undertaken every year and requires you to have a Beeswax Rewax Bar.
Both methods are quick and easy to do, and the nice people at The Beeswax Wrap Co. have made some handy videos to show you how to complete these methods, please find these below:
We know how difficult it can be to tell how much of an impact what you are buying has on the environment, and what effect switching to a more sustainable product has, so we have found out and compiled all of this information for you below.
Beeswax Wraps are a plastic free, reusable replacement for clingfilm.
The Beeswax Wraps are made from GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified organic Cotton and low impact Dyes, organic Jojoba Oil, Pine Resin and UK Beeswax. The Beeswax Wrap Co. try to source their ingredients as locally as possible, with most of their Beeswax coming from within 30 miles of their workshop.
Just think how much clingfilm you get through in a year – two rolls maybe? At 50 metres a roll, that would mean 100 metres per year - in just one house! That’s a lot of plastic, and worse still, most local authorities don’t accept it for recycling, meaning that most of it ends up in landfill.
Beeswax Wraps provide a reusable, plastic free alternative that should last you for at least a year, if not longer. They are made from 100% natural materials and are fully compostable when they reach the end of their usable life.
The Beeswax Wraps come packaged in a recyclable cardboard sleeve.
When you can no longer refresh your Beeswax Wraps and they have finally given up the ghost, they can be put in your compost bin, or even twisted up to use as firelighters!
