We know how difficult it can be to tell how much of an impact what you are buying has on the environment, and what effect switching to a more sustainable product has, so we have found out and compiled all of this information for you below.
The Recycled Natural Cotton Twine replaces string that contains synthetic materials such as plastic, and also natural twine made from new cotton.
The Recycled Natural Cotton Twine is made from 100% recycled, post consumer waste cotton.
A surprisingly high amount of string available contains synthetic materials such as plastic and nylon. This string is not recyclable or compostable, so ends up in landfill or even worse ends up polluting the environment. By switching to string made from natural materials, you are avoiding all of that plastic waste. The Recycled Cotton Twine is fully compostable and zero waste. Furthermore, it's better for the environment than natural twine that is made from new cotton, as it re-uses cotton from post consumer waste such as clothes, preventing them from going to landfill. Cotton requires a lot of water when grown, so it makes a lot of sense to use recycled cotton to make string.
The Twine is available in a reusable dispenser or as a refill. The dispenser is a recyclable cardboard box with a built in metal cutting blade. The refill is packaging free. We do need to mention that the dispenser features a see through film window that is made from plastic. We are currently in talks with the manufacturer to have this removed.
The Twine is 100% home compostable, so when you need to dispose of it, simply place it in your compost bin.
