The Cheese Slicer With Wooden Handle from ecoLiving is handmade in Germany using sustainably sourced beech wood and stainless steel, ideal for cutting beautifully perfect slithers of hard cheese at just the right thickness!
The Cheese Slicer should be hand washed only and is not suitable for the dishwasher. Due to the handmade nature of the Cheese Slicer, there may be some scratches and imperfections (which we feel adds to the character!).

The Cheese Slicer with Wooden Handle replaces cheese slicers that are made with plastic handles.
The handle is made from sustainably sourced beech wood, whilst the blade is made from stainless steel.
Any kitchen utensils that have plastic components are difficult or impossible to recycle when they reach the end of their usable life. This poses a problem as the plastic inevitably ends up in landfill, where it will slowly degrade over hundreds of years and release micro plastics that make their way into the environment. By using kitchen utensils that are made using compostable and recyclable materials such as wood and steel, you can ensure that when your utensil has seen better days, it can be disposed of in a sustainable way.
We wrap the Cheese Slicer in a recyclable paper bag to protect it (and any other items in your order) on its way to you.
The Cheese Slicer is well built and should last a long time, however, if you do need to dispose of it, the handle can be composted and the blade can be recycled with your household recycling.
