Environmental Details
We know how difficult it can be to tell how much of an impact what you are buying has on the environment, and what effect switching to a more sustainable product has, so we have found out and compiled all of this information for you below.
The recycled Christmas wrapping paper replaces wrapping paper made from virgin paper and wrapping paper that is coated with plastic, metal and other additives which are also packaged in plastic.
The wrapping paper is made from 100% recycled paper made from unbleached post consumer waste and is printed using vegetable based inks.
Did you know, the majority of wrapping paper is very thin and contains few good quality fibres that are suitable for recycling. This along with the fact that wrapping paper is often laminated and contains non-paper additives, such as coloured shapes, glitter and plastics, means the majority of wrapping paper can not be recycled and unfortunately ends up in landfill. To make matters worse, a lot of wrapping paper is made from virgin paper (this is paper made from trees that are freshly cut down) which helps accelerate deforestation by going straight from tree to landfill within weeks. This is where Re-wrapped is game changing. While it remains a wrapping paper, it’s everything traditional wrapper paper is not. Re-wrapped wrapping paper is made from 100% recycled paper and because of it’s 100gsm thickness and high quality, and its lack of plastic and additional additives, it’s 100% recyclable after use but can also composted as it’s printed using vegetable based inks.
The wrapping paper is packaged in a recyclable and composable paper bag.
Once the presents have been opened and the wrapping paper has been discarded, it can be recycled in your household recycling bin or composted in your home compost bin. We would highly recommend using paper tape with the wrapping paper to make recycling and composting easier and to achieve a plastic free Christmas.
