Environmental Details
We know how difficult it can be to tell how much of an impact what you are buying has on the environment, and what effect switching to a more sustainable product has, so we have found out and compiled all of this information for you below.
The Compostable Organic Cotton Dishcloth from Wild & Stone replaces dishcloths that are made from plastic, and non-organic cotton dishcloths.
The dishcloth is made from 100% organic cotton, which is dyed to OEKO-TEX standard.
Did you know, most dishcloths are made out of microfibres, which are a type of plastic? Every time you use these synthetic dishcloths, millions of microfibres are released down the drain. These microfibres are too small to be filtered out by waste treatment plants, so they end up in our waterways and oceans, where they wreak havoc on marine animal health and our environment. These plastics then make their way into the food chain, eventually ending up on our plates! That's where Wild & Stone have stepped in with their organic cotton dishcloths. They are made from 100% organic cotton, so are totally plastic free. What's more, being organic, they have much less of an impact on the environment than non-organic cotton, as organic cotton uses less water and doesn't use pesticides or chemical fertilisers.
The dishcloth is packaged with a compostable and recyclable card band.
When the dishcloth has seen better days, it is suitable for home composting, so simply cut it up into small pieces and place these in your compost bin. To make your dishcloth last longer, hang it up to dry between uses.
