Soft in the middle with crispy edges and a delicious taste, there’s nothing more authentic on Mexican night than a handmade tortilla. We’ve always loved making our own here at Enviroli, but always struggled with rolling them thin enough. That’s not a problem any more though with the tortilla press from Verve Culture.
The tortilla press is handmade by artisans in Mexico from recycled aluminium. Although lighter than cast iron, the large size of this press will still give you uniform, flat tortillas and means that the tortilla press really is designed to last forever. The press has a highly polished finish, making it a show stopper in your kitchen.
Tortillas are so easy to make and require just two simple ingredients: masa harina flour and water. Simply mix equal parts masa harina flour with water, make a golf ball-sized dough, put it in the press, and close it. Press once, rotate, and gently press again. Cook the tortilla for around one minute on each side. Once made, the tortillas can be frozen to keep them for longer.
