Protecting yourself from the suns harmful rays is very important, but did you know that the majority of sunscreens are really bad for the environment, and not great for your health either? That’s where Sol de Ibiza comes in; it’s made using 100% natural, eco-friendly, skin loving ingredients. The sunscreen is suitable for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin and children, and is Vegan friendly, cruelty free and not tested on animals. It provides strong protection against UVA, UVB, wind and pollution with an SPF of 30 and is water resistant for 40 minutes.
Most ‘normal’ sunscreens contain lots of nasty chemicals, many of which are harmful to marine life, which means if you go swimming in the ocean, your sunscreen may be seeping these chemicals into the environment and causing damage. Sol de Ibiza doesn’t contain any of these chemicals, therefore it’s marine and reef safe, and won’t cause any damage like coral bleaching. The natural ingredients in Sol de Ibiza are non-toxic and non-nano. You can read more about what makes Sol de Ibiza different to ‘normal’ sunscreens in the Environmental Information tab.
Sol de Ibiza is simple to apply – just allow it to get to room temperature and apply with your finger. Please note, natural mineral filter sunscreens such as Sol de Ibiza work differently to chemical UV filter sunscreens. Sol de Ibiza creates a layer on top of the skin to protect it, whereas chemical UV filters create a chemical UV barrier within the skin. As such, Sol de Ibiza can leave a white cast on your skin when applied, which is the physical barrier sitting on top of your skin. Don’t worry, this will wash off.
Sol de Ibiza donates 1% of all its revenue to the Ibiza Preservation Foundation, a foundation that works to preserve and protect the land and sea in Ibiza and Formentera. The Ibiza Preservation Foundation has a vision for Ibiza and Formentera to be a model of sustainability, where the preservation of the islands exceptional natural beauty and resources contribute to local well-being and prosperity.
