Environmental Details
We know how difficult it can be to tell how much of an impact what you are buying has on the environment, and what effect switching to a more sustainable product has, so we have found out and compiled all of this information for you below.
The Original Duckhead Umbrella replaces umbrellas that are made with virgin plastic.
The canopy of the umbrella is made using 100% rPET, sourced from nine recycled plastic bottles. The canopy is dyed with non-toxic dyes, and coated with an eco-friendly non-toxic AC coating. The handle of the umbrella is made from sustainably sourced birch wood, and the frame is made from steel.
The vast majority of umbrellas out there are made using virgin plastic - that's new plastic that has just been produced. The problem is, there is already loads of plastic already out there, heading to landfill or polluting our environment. That's where Original Duckhead stepped in. They decided to make their umbrellas using recycled plastic, giving a new and long life to nine recycled plastic bottles. By using recycled plastic, they are helping to reduce the impact that plastic has on the environment.
The Original Duckhead Umbrella is packaged in a 100% compostable bag.
The umbrella is well built and built to last, but if it gets damaged, get in touch with Original Duckhead first. They have quite a few spare parts, and may be able to help repair your umbrella to give it a new lease of life. However, when it has finally seen better days, the umbrella can be recycled at your local household recycling centre. Separate the umbrella into its individual parts, and put the canopy in with plastics, the frame in with metals and the handle in with wood.
