The Loofco Bathtime Loofah replaces plastic based exfoliator pads and sponges.

The Loofco Bathtime Loofah is made from the Loofah Plant, with an Egyptian Cotton hanging string. The Loofah Plant is a vigorously growing vine from the cucumber family that is rich in durable fibres yet soft and flexible. When ripe, the inside of the loofah fruit develops a network of fibres that are perfect for cleaning and exfoliating purposes when dried. The loofahs are harvested, peeled and deseeded, then dried, cut into lengths and processed by hand in Egypt. This is a traditional method that has been passed down through generations.

Most shop bought exfoliator pads are made from plastic, which when used release micro plastics that end up going down the drain, eventually polluting the ocean. Not only that, plastic exfoliator pads cannot be recycled so end up in landfill, where they sit for hundreds (if not thousands) of years. The Loofco Bathtime Loofah is made from the loofah plant and is therefore 100% natural and compostable. Being totally plastic free, it won’t release any microplastics when it is used. The pad is very hardwearing and should last for months. Once it is finally time to replace the pad, it can be composted at home, so is totally zero-waste.

The Bathtime Loofah arrives flattened to save up space and is packaged in an FSC responsibly sourced card sleeve, printed with vegetable based inks and sealed with a compostable cellulose sticker.

When it is time to replace your Loofco Bathtime Loofah, it can be composted at home in your compost bin or placed in with your food waste collection if your local authority offers this type of service.
