We know how difficult it can be to tell how much of an impact what you are buying has on the environment, and what effect switching to a more sustainable product has, so we have found out and compiled all of this information for you below.
The Vegan Dental Floss from ecoLiving replaces conventional dental flosses made using plastics.
The floss is made from corn and vegetable oils. Only the nonedible part of the corn is used, turning a wasted by-product of the food industry into something useful.
Most conventional dental flosses are made using plastic that originates from crude oil, which ends up in landfill as it can’t be recycled. They are also usually contained in single use plastic dispensers. Other eco-friendly floss is usually made from silk, which comes from silk worms, so isn't Vegan friendly. The ecoLiving Vegan Dental Floss solves these problems. It is made from plant based materials so is 100% compostable after use and Vegan friendly. It's contained in a refillable (and recyclable) cardboard dispenser so is zero waste too.
The floss can be purchased with a refillable card dispenser, or as a refill pack. The refills are wrapped in wax paper. Both options are packaged in a cardboard box printed with vegetable based inks, which can be recycled or composted.
When you have finished flossing, you may be able to compost it at home if you have a hot composter like a Hotbin, or it can be composted in certain local authorities in your food caddy for industrial composting.

We also use Parcelforce Worldwide in partnership with General Logistics Systems (GLS) to deliver our customer orders to our European customers and where it’s more cost effective and in line with our environmental values, we use DHL Parcel UK.
We have done extensive research into different delivery companies and have found Royal Mail, Parcelforce Worldwide (a part of the Royal Mail Group), GLS (also a part of the Royal Mail Group) and in select areas, DHL to be the most cost effective, reliable and environmentally friendly. We constantly review our delivery options to ensure what we offer continues to be cost effective for our customers, whilst remaining true to our environmental values.
