Unlike conventional sponges, these sponges do not emit micro-plastic pollution. They are highly absorbent, durable, reusable and once you have finished with them, they are suitable for home composting.
The sponges are made in the UK, the small sponge is 100 x 80 x 25mm and the large sponge is 120 x 80 x 25mm.

The Compostable Sponges from ecoLiving replace conventional sponges and cloths which are made from plastic.
The Compostable Sponges are made from natural renewable plant based materials - cotton, wood pulp and flax.
Conventional sponges from the supermarket are often made from plastic, and as such release micro plastics when they are used. These micro plastics get washed down the drain, where they eventually make their way into the ocean, polluting the environment and harming aquatic life. Conventional sponges cannot be recycled, instead ending up in landfill, where they remain for a very long time. The Compostable Sponges, however, are totally plastic free, instead being made from plant based materials. Using them won't harm the environment, and they can be composted after use, leaving no trace behind.
The Sponges are packaged in a recyclable cardboard box.
When the Sponges have seen better days they can be home composted.

We also use Parcelforce Worldwide in partnership with General Logistics Systems (GLS) to deliver our customer orders to our European customers and where it’s more cost effective and in line with our environmental values, we use DHL Parcel UK.
We have done extensive research into different delivery companies and have found Royal Mail, Parcelforce Worldwide (a part of the Royal Mail Group), GLS (also a part of the Royal Mail Group) and in select areas, DHL to be the most cost effective, reliable and environmentally friendly. We constantly review our delivery options to ensure what we offer continues to be cost effective for our customers, whilst remaining true to our environmental values.
